RUFUS - With the Speaker Elections in September, current Deputy Speaker Gretchen LeWolf received the backing of the Nationalist Party to become the 32nd Speaker of the House, after Harris announced that he would not seek reelection in November.
"The Nationalist Party would like to formally announce the nominee for Speaker Of The House in November. This person has worked hard, has shown great leadership, and has been a strong party member. Mrs. Gretchen LeWolf has received unprecedented support from the party and we would like to nominate Mrs. LeWolf as House Speaker."
LeWolf has received to nomination and will need to receive enough votes to be appointed. She is facing off against Republican Jack Whittle for the position. Whittle has served as the House Public Information Officer for the Republican Party.
"I am grateful for the nomination for Speaker of the House," said Deputy Speaker LeWolf. "I have worked hard to provide service to the citizens of the United States Of Jesstopia. Thank you for nominating me and I happily accept the nomination."
LeWolf will also be the first person to be appointed to the position before the brand new 5 year terms begin in 2025. She will also nominate a Deputy Speaker if she wins, as provide in 5 provisions of the Jesstopian Consitutions.
Her term will expire in November 2025. She said that she isn't planning, as of yet to run again. She says she is just focused on winning the votes that will decide if she will become the 32nd House Speaker.
