ALDEN - Moments ago, Mesa Governor Kirk Paul signed several executive orders that activated the State's Drug and Weapon task force, something that hadn't been activated since 2010 when the State's drug problem caused serious shootings.

Governor Paul will be hosting a press conference at 8 PM, and will address the concerns of many residents. During the press conference he will explain what the task force is aiming for and where patrols will take place.

Residents are asked to not interfere with operations and Governor Paul said a felony conviction may be a result of interferrence.

"Our state will be taken back from these drug runners." said Gov. Paul. "We are very sad that our state has this problem, whereas no other state has nearly as bad of a drug problem."

The conference will be held at the Governor's Mansion at 8:00 PM.
